Story about the one who has his own mind...

Just brought Bryan for his eyecheck at HPB on 25 Aug. His myopia for both eyes had increased by 100 degrees each and astig by 50 degrees. This was considered quite fast since he got his first specs only 4 months ago. His degree are now 200 and 250. To me, that is quite high for a K2 boy. Haiz....

Anyway, this story is about him shopping for his new specs. We both actually wanted to by a $38 orange specs from a shop in Chong Pang. After trying it on, we both did not like it. After trying various pairs for about 10 mins, I give up. Those cheap ones do not look durable on him. Somemore, the young sales girl did not even bother to show me better ones.

So, we moved on to the second shop. On the way, Bryan told me he decided that he wanted a red specs. Well, being a mum who wants to save $, I sort of ignore what he said. In the second shop, the specs were better and there was a red specs which Bryan felt that it was ok. That specs costs $80. To me, $80 would mean that I could get similar range in most shops. I rejected the specs that he wanted because there were felt hairy like stuff from the frame. It has some cloth like design which was glued on and I did not like it.

In the third shop, the salesman was good. Showed me quite good and cheap frames. There was a plastic frame which was ok for me. However, it only comes in purple and clear. Bryan did not choose it even when I sort of force him to. The salesman asked me to choose something he likes, otherwise, the child may not wear the specs in the end. Haiz.

Ok, went to fourth shop. Service so-so. Specs so-so.

Feeling frustrated, I told Bryan that we are going into one last shop and that's it. In the fifth shop, the salesman immediately showed me two boxes of plastic frames. By chance, he handed a red frame specs to Bryan. Upon trying it, Bryan gave me a thumbs up signal. No matter how I ask him to try and consider other frames, he still wanted that red one. Well, he sure has his own MIND.....Haiz....
