Results for SA1

I only realised that Marcus had been reading without comprehension with help of his form teacher in late April. We also identified that his vocab is not that good. Anyway, that set a good platform for me to know his standard and not pushing him too much.

I would say he did me proud and he gave me pretty good results that I am happy with. I realised that he knows more about competition and asking if he could be first in class etc. As expected, he did not come in first in class. :) But his overall grades for all three subjects were better than last year. To me, that is good enough. Knowing that boys will "underperform" than girls when younger, I am seriously proud of him. Hopefully, I can "train" the same out of the cheeky number two, but....I won't bet on it.... ^_^

CMA Maths Olympia 2010

This year, it was held at Singapore Expo. We were there from 11am to 630pm. Oh boy, it was really a tiring day for us.
Marcus - 1st for Grade 6 Mental and 3rd for Grade 8 Abacus
Bryan - 3rd for Grade 10 Mental and 4th for Grade 11 Abacus.

Well, it was mixed feelings on Marcus performance. Super trilled that he finally got 1st. But was a bit disappointing about his Abacus. However, it was more or less expected because he really could not perform well during our practice sessions at home.

For Bryan, I think he has tried his best. He was sick with runnning nose and low grade fever for almost 2 weeks. He has actually advance much faster and I am already happy that he knows what is compeition and having fun from it. Although he did not get first, he still shows that he is proud of getting a 3rd and 4th. This is the positive side of Bryan. He's always happy and contented....for now. I guess he does not understand much about competition but enjoys the involvement in competition. ^_^
