I had it done with Tonia as we both had the same doctor in mind and found it easier to go together in case we "chicken" out...HaHaHa. Well, we did it at Parkway Eye Clinic by Dr. Lee Hung Meng. The same doctor who did for my SIL. He is a pretty friendly doctor and you can see that he is person with confidence. I feel safe under him. His charges are certainly not cheap when you compare with Shinagawa and Singapore Lasik Clinic. Overall cost was $4k for both eyes.
This is a pic of me before the surgery. I took this myself when I feel bored while waiting for the doctor. There were a few of us in line for the surgery and Tonia was next behind me.
The surgery was of ZERO pain and it was over in minutes. After lying on the operating table, I was pushed to one side of the table, where I think the flap was cut. And then moved to another side where the flap was lifted and where the cut comes in. It was this time when you can smell the burning smell. It was not easy to focus on the red light all the time as the muscle relaxer was making me sleepy. Anyway, the flap was finally placed back and it was done!
Ok, this was taken after the surgery while waiting for Dr. Lee to review my eyes before I was allowed to go home. While waiting for Tonia, I went to the ladies and discover that one eye looked funny. As seen in the picture taken below, you can actually see a line of white substance. I checked with the nurse and she told me this is normal and will subside soon. Luckily she is right. It disappeared by night time. Phew...
Anyway, I could see pretty clear by end of last night. But the halos was terrible. I do not like it at all. But of course, I could live with it as long as it is temporary. Today, we went for our review. We still can see halos but vision is now 6/6. Now, there is nothing left but to enjoy the good vision and wait for the halos to leave me alone. ^_^
